Folkestone Velo Club is a friendly local club affiliated with British Cycling, (KCA) Kent Cycling Association and (CTT) Cycling Time Trials offering cycle sport for all.
Following our formation in 2012, FVC grew quickly by word of mouth, recommendation or people simply recognising our distinctive black and pink kit . We offer a wide range of rides for riders of different abilities, including faster training rides and ‘no drop’ club runs. Ultimately we exist to help members improve their fitness, cycling confidence and, most of all, make new and loyal friends.
We use twitter and facebook as virtual clubhouses where all members can share their thoughts and ideas about their club. Our focus is on social and sports road cycling and have members who take part in road racing, time trials, organised sportive rides, charity rides, long-distance endurance events, cyclocross and triathlon.
Riding with a cycling club can seem daunting for new members, but we were all new once! Our club rides always start by meeting at 13cc in Folkestone town centre where new members can come along and we will talk you through things like what to bring with you and how to ride safely in a group.
We welcome new members from all backgrounds without discrimination, but unfortunately the club cannot take responsibility for riders under that age of 16 (unless accompanied by an adult family member or friend).
Visit us on facebook and twitter and come along and join us on one of our club rides.
